If insect/wind pollination is required for plants, how come house plants/flowers still grow?

Pollination is only required to grow a new plant. It is the plants way of reproducing. House plants are usually bought already grown or in the form of a germinated seed, or bulb.

House plants only flower, but normally do not produce any type of fruit or seeds. If they did, then they would need to be pollinated. If they do but aren%26#039;t pollinated, then they just keep growing but never bear fruit or seeds.


It%26#039;s the same as a human female who doesn%26#039;t get fertilized and therefore doesn%26#039;t have kids. It has nothing to do with whether or not she grows (or grows old), it just has to do with whether or not she reproduces (has a baby).
Reply:Pollination is part of plant reproduction. Reproduction is not the same thing as growing. House plants can grow without reproducing. Of course, eventually they%26#039;ll die, and if they don%26#039;t reproduce all your plants will be gone...
