What do you think about artificial plants, flowers, etc? Do they LOOK fake?

Definate on som eof the above answers, that artificial plants they look fake, unless you spend a fortune on them!

Also they collect dust (no matter how much you paid) Tell tale sign of fake plants..dusty leaves! Bad for people with allergies, too.

One way to get away with fake - is to use them up high where they cant be inspected closely...and use real plants where they will be touched.

Reply:the silk ones look nice. i don%26#039;t do well with real plants so i use silk ones and i have several cactus that people think are real.
Reply:I think there are 2 problems with artificial plants looking fake. !. people buy a poor quality of plant and don%26#039;t maintain them. they need care also. You must dust them and turn them occasionally so they don%26#039;t fade on one side from the sun. 2. Don%26#039;t just plop them in a container. Think of them as a real plant. The leaves should be shaped properly I.E. young leaves should be bent straight upward, reaching for the sun, as they would be in real life. I use the trick of mixing real with artificial.
Reply:not from 2 feet away. only if you take a close look.
Reply:Depends on where you get them and the quality. This is definitely a case for %26quot;you get what you pay for%26quot;.
Reply:It depends on the brand. Artificial flowers are tacky, hands down. However, there is some artificial greenery that is semi-okay. The good kind usually costs more but it is worth it.
Reply:It depends on their quality.

A friend of mine refurnished recently her appartment and I was amazed by the beautiful plants and pots of flowers she bought. Provided she%26#039;s a sales representative and could be long away from home, I asked her who was going to take care of this ...jungle and she replied laughing that they are artificial, made of raw silk and other fine materials, that%26#039;s why she paid a lot of money.

Although I am in the plants, I could not tell the difference but when I went to the shop she told me, I saw very many different qualities and realized that if you do not want to have plants that look fake, you have to pay a lot of money.
Reply:Some are better than others, I prefer fresh flowers but its not always easy to get them, artificial flowers when maintained well looks fine. However remember that they are dust collectors and this gives them away as fake!
Reply:That depends on what kind you get. If you buy the cheap $1-a-bunch kind, then it%26#039;s obvious that they%26#039;re fake. If you go to a hobby shop and spend $5 on them, they%26#039;ll look a lot better. Also, if you make an arrangement with artificial flowers, a dead giveaway that they%26#039;re fake is if you allow dust to collect on them, which won%26#039;t happen with real flowers because they wilt and die before too long.
Reply:Honestly, I think they are awful.
Reply:Look quite fake within a few feet. Look fine otherwise.affiliate reviews
